I am a research scientist and teacher.
2022-present: Professor of Humans & Technology
(Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany)
I investigate how humans process information, with computing systems, to get work done. I rely on implicit measures of human behavior, such as eye tracking and electroencephalography, to observe uninterrupted human-machine interactions.
I teach Engineering for Human Factors, Psychophysiological Computing, Human-Machine Interactions, & Media Computing
I received my doctoral training in behavioral neuroscience.
2011, March 23: Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, German
I received a doctorate in the Natural Sciences (Neuroscience) for my dissertation on “Recognizing Objects from Dynamic Visual Experiences”.
I am part of the executive committee for the Section of Engineering Psychology, German Psychological Society (DGPs).
2019-present: Treasurer for FG Ingenieurpsychologie (DGPs)
The section for engineering psychology was established in 2018, after it was co-initiated by Martin Baumann, Sebastian Pannasch, Jürgen Sauer, and myself. It is one of my proudest career achievement.
I am an associate editor.
2018-present: International Journal for Human-Computer Studies
2019-present: Scientific Reports
2020-present: Frontiers in Neuroergonomics
I’ve worked with some remarkable people.
